Lesson 7 · Present Continuous

Course test

Whole-course check

A mix of the whole course: form, use, spelling of -ing, negatives, questions and the choice between simple and continuous.

No new theory — only what you've already seen in the lessons.

How to check yourself

  • 1find the time marker and decide: a habit, a process now or a temporary situation
  • 2check the verb: is it on the closed list that doesn't take -ing?
  • 3build the form and check be and the spelling of -ing once more

Look! She is running.

Where people usually slip

Don't guess the tense from a general feeling of “now”. First mark the English time word: every day leads to the simple form, right now to the continuous.
