Lesson 2 of 6 · ~5 minutes
Lesson 2 · Present Simple
Use
Use
The present simple talks about habits and facts. Not about what is happening at this exact minute.
Habits and timetables
Things people do again and again. You often see every day, every morning, on Sundays, usually, always, never nearby. They show it's repeated, not a one-off.
I walk to work every day.
She plays tennis on Sundays.
Fact
Things that are true in general, not only today. As a rule, the shop opens at nine. Water freezes in winter — that's how water is, not something you see out of the window right now.

Water freezes in winter.
