Privacy

Updated 25 August 2026 · Effective 1 June 2026

In short: we keep what the app needs to run, and nothing else. We do not sell data, show ads, or build profiles of you.

Who we are

vibenglish is the vocabulary app at vibenglish.app. There is no separate company behind the name. Questions: contact@vibenglish.app.

What we store

  • Email and password. The password is stored only as a hash — even we cannot recover it.
  • Name and photo, if you signed in with Google. We take nothing else from your Google account.
  • Your words, translations and sets — what you added yourself.
  • The study schedule and your place in a course — so the app knows what to show today.
  • Texts you paste — in My texts. They stay in this account: nobody else can open them, and they go nowhere.

We do not collect a phone number, address or payment details, we do not read anything outside the app, and we do not store voice recordings or speech transcripts.

Who we pass it to

Only those without whom the service cannot run:

  • Neon — the database. AWS region us-east-1, Virginia, United States.
  • Vercel — hosts the app.
  • Resend — confirmation and password-reset emails.
  • Google — if you chose to sign in with Google.
  • Anthropic — when a word is missing from the shared dictionary, it goes to a model. When you ask what a word means inside a text of yours, the one sentence it stands in goes with it. Only that goes: no email, no name, nothing about you, and never the whole text.
  • LogRocket — session replay. It records what happens on your screen inside the app, so a bug can be watched instead of guessed at. Your name and email are hidden from the recording, and sign-in requests are not recorded at all.
  • The browser’s speech recognizer — when you say a word in Speech, the browser may send that audio to its own vendor. vibenglish never receives, stores, or transcribes it.

Nobody else. Data is not sold and not passed to advertising networks. Vercel Speed Insights counts anonymous page visits and does not receive the contents of your words. LogRocket sees the app the way you see it, so the words on your screen are part of the recording; recordings are kept for about a month and then deleted.

Where the data lives

The database is Neon, AWS region us-east-1 (Virginia, United States). The app runs on Vercel, also in the United States; their nodes serve static files worldwide. Model requests are processed on Anthropic’s infrastructure. Session recordings are stored by LogRocket, also in the United States. If you are in Europe: your data leaves the EU, and creating an account is how you agree to that.

Your rights

  • See it. Everything we store is visible in the app itself.
  • Export it. Write to contact@vibenglish.app and we will send your dictionary and progress as one file.
  • Correct it. Any word, translation and set is edited by you.
  • Delete it. Write to contact@vibenglish.app and we will remove the email, words, sets, progress, sessions and tokens. That cannot be undone.

Shared dictionary

Translations that have entered the shared dictionary stay there after the account is deleted: they are no longer tied to you and other people need them. If you want those removed too — write to us.

How long we keep it

Account data lasts as long as the account does. Write to contact@vibenglish.app and we will delete the row.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in. A language cookie remembers English or Russian. There are no advertising cookies. LogRocket keeps an identifier in the browser so one visit’s recording does not fall apart into pieces; it is not advertising and is not passed on. Vercel Speed Insights counts anonymous visits, but does not tie them to the account or send the contents of your words.

Children

The app is meant for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger, use it with a parent’s consent.

Changes

If the rules change in a material way, we will email you before the changes take effect. The date of the last update is always at the top of this page.
